The Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA) basketball nipped the host Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes (Schuylkill Haven, PA), 50-48 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The (15-9) will now prepare for their test against Mahanoy Area (Mahanoy City, PA). The Golden Bears go into the non-league test with a 27-0 record. In their last test, Mahanoy Area got by Tri-Valley (Hegins, PA), 64-49, in a non-league test.

The Hurricanes now own a 20-5 record.
