Forest Wildcats (Ocala, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gainesville Hurricanes (Gainesville, FL), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dunnellon for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. Forest will face a Tigers squad coming off a 14-5 non-league win over West Port (Ocala, FL). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Gainesville falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Trenton (Trenton, FL) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 7. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Trenton won 8-3 in their recent non-league challenge against East Ridge (Clermont, FL)
