Mississippi High School Baseball - Southeast Lauderdale nips Newton County

The Southeast Lauderdale Tigers baseball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Newton County Cougars to 2 in the Tigers non-league win on Friday.
The Tigers now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Patrician Academy for a non-league test on Saturday, March 1. Southeast Lauderdale will play a Saints team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Lakeside School (Eufaula, AL). The Saints record now stands at 1-2.
With the defeat, Newton County drops to 2-6 on the year. The Cougars host Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS) to play the Warriors in a 4A Region 4 test on Tuesday, March 4. The Warriors go into the test with a record of 1-3.
