The Alcoa Tornadoes (Alcoa, TN) basketball nipped the visiting Austin-East Roadrunners (Knoxville, TN), 86-85 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Tornadoes (18-11) will now prepare for their test against Central Magnet (Murfreesboro, TN). The go into the non-league test with a 18-14 record.

The Roadrunners now own a 22-10 record. They play next when they travel to Brainerd for a non-league test on Monday, March 4. Austin-East will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 54-51 non-league win over Tyner Academy (Chattanooga, TN). The Panthers record now stands at 12-13.
