Louisiana High School Softball - Barbe nudges Sulphur

February 29, 2024: Lake Charles, LA 70605

Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA), 12-11 in a league challenge.

The Buccaneers now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Montgomery for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. Barbe will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 6-2 non-league win over Converse (Converse, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Sulphur falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Golden tors host Natchitoches Central (Natchitoches, LA) to battle the Chiefs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Chiefs enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Natchitoches Central won 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Northshore (Slidell, LA)
