The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Beauregard Hornets (Opelika, AL) and the visiting Beulah Bobcats (Valley, AL), saw Beauregard's softball squad nip Beulah by a count of 7-6.

The Hornets now sport a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host Valley for a 5A Area 5 match on Tuesday, March 5. Beauregard will face a Rams squad coming off a 16-0 non-league loss to Handley (Roanoke, AL). The Rams record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Beulah falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Thompson (Alabaster, AL) to meet the Warriors in a non-league battle on Friday, March 1. The Warriors go into the battle with a record of 14-1. Thompson won 9-1 in their recent non-league battle against Calera (Calera, AL)
