Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Rowan Raiders (China Grove, NC), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carson for a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Central Cabarrus will face a Cougars squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Robinson (Concord, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, South Rowan falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to East Davidson (Thomasville, NC) to face the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. East Davidson won 17-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Glenn (Kernersville, NC)
