Clairemont Chieftains (San Diego, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mar Vista Mariners (Imperial Beach, CA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Southwest EC for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. Clairemont will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 11-2 non-league win over Holtville (Holtville, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Mar Vista falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Mariners travel to Point Loma (San Diego, CA) to battle the Pointers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Pointers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
