South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Eastern Alamance for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. South Caldwell will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over West Johnston (Benson, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Cox Mill falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Mooresville (Mooresville, NC) to battle the Blue Devils in a Greater Metro 4A match on Wednesday, March 13. The Blue Devils go into the match with a record of 2-0.
