Florence Eagles (Florence, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Vicksburg Gators (Vicksburg, MS), 19-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wesson for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. Florence will battle a Cobras squad coming off a 8-3 non-league win over West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS). The Cobras record now stands at 8-0.

With the loss, Vicksburg falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Gators host Columbus (Columbus, MS) to battle the Falcons in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Columbus lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS)
