Maumelle Hornets (Maumelle, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nashville Scrappers (Nashville, AR), 11-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Conway for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. Maumelle will battle a Wampus Cats squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Bentonville West (Centerton, AR). The Wampus Cats record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Nashville falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Scrappers host Bryant (Bryant, AR) to battle the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Bryant won 11-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Baptist Prep (Little Rock, AR)
