Rutherford Bulldogs (Rutherford, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Garfield Boilermakers (Garfield, NJ), 70-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Rutherford upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Eastern Christian (North Haledon, NJ) to play the Eagles in a Northwest Jersey - Colonial bout on Tuesday, February 8. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-5.

Next up, the Boilermakers play the Ridgefield Memorial Royals (Ridgefield, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 4. Garfield will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Royals go into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 27-22 league win over Harrison (Harrison, NJ).
