The Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) basketball nipped the host North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC), 55-48 in Friday's league test.
The Blue Comets (17-4) will now prepare for their test against Ledford (Thomasville, NC). The Panthers go into the 3A Conference 47 test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Ledford got by Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC), 43-41, in a league test.
The Black Knights now own a 11-9 record. They play next when they host Central Davidson for a 3A Conference 47 test on Tuesday, February 7. North Davidson will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 78-29 league win over Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 13-9.
