The Maud Cardinals (Maud, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Bowie Pirates (Simms, TX), 57-53 in Friday's league test.

The Cardinals (9-9) will now prepare for their test against Harts Bluff (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Region II District 16 test with a 13-14 record. In their last test, Harts Bluff was tipped by Rivercrest (Bogata, TX), 56-48, in a league test.

The Pirates now own a 12-4 record. They play next when they travel to Harts Bluff for a 2A Region II District 16 test on Friday, February 10. Bowie will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 51-44 league loss to Maud (Maud, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-15.
