Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hempstead Bobcats (Hempstead, TX), 43-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Brazos upgrades its record to 13-11 on the season. The Cougars travel to Harmony School of Discovery (Houston, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 0-12. Harmony School of Discovery lost 1-0 in their recent league bout against East Bernard (East Bernard, TX)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Hitchcock Bulldogs (Hitchcock, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Hempstead will attempt to upgrade on its 6-20 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 20-7 record after their 101-28 league win over Danbury (Danbury, TX).
