The Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions (Centralia, IL), 40-38 in Friday's league test.

The Explorers (15-11) will now prepare for their test against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] (Winchester, IL). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 19-7 record. In their last test, West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] got by Carrollton (Carrollton, IL), 77-52, in a league test.

The Silver Stallions now own a 23-1 record. They play next when they host Grayville for a Midland Trail test on Saturday, February 4. Christ Our Rock Lutheran will encounter a Bison squad coming off a 88-69 league loss to Waltonville (Waltonville, IL). The Bison record now stands at 10-16.
