Christoval Cougars (Christoval, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sonora Broncos (Sonora, TX), 74-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Christoval upgrades its record to 17-12 on the season. The Cougars host Water Valley (Water Valley, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region I District 7 bout on Saturday, February 4. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 16-12. Water Valley lost 67-35 in their recent league bout against Sterling City (Sterling City, TX)

Next up, the Broncos play the Forsan Buffaloes (Forsan, TX) in a 2A Region I District 7 bout, on Monday, February 6. Sonora will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a 12-15 record after their 38-31 league win over Eldorado (Eldorado, TX).
