In Friday's league outing, the Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) basketball squad edged the host La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX), by a count of 56-51.
The Cadets (24-4) will now prepare for their outing against Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Rockets go into the 4A Region III District 23 outing with a 6-22 record. In their last outing, Robinson was tipped by China Spring (China Spring, TX), 72-32, in a league outing.
The Pirates now hold a 17-11 record. They play next when they travel to Gatesville for a 4A Region III District 23 outing on Tuesday, February 7. La Vega will clash with a Hornets squad coming off a 59-45 league win over Salado (Salado, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 26-5.
