The East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) basketball knocked off the host Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA), 60-51 in Friday's league test.

The Spartans (12-11) will now prepare for their test against Live Oak (Watson, LA). The Eagles go into the 5A District 5 test with a 7-14 record. In their last test, Live Oak went down by Walker (Walker, LA), 73-19, in a league test.

The Yellowjackets now own a 21-5 record. They play next when they travel to Dutchtown for a 5A District 5 test on Tuesday, February 7. Denham Springs will encounter a Griffins squad coming off a 62-54 league loss to St. Amant (St. Amant, LA). The Griffins record now stands at 7-11.
