Surprise Valley Hornets (Cedarville, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Dunsmuir Tigers (Dunsmuir, CA), 69-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Surprise Valley upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Hayfork (Hayfork, CA) to play the Timberjacks in a Evergreen bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Timberjacks come into the bout with a record of 3-14.

Next up, the Tigers play the Butte Valley Bulldogs (Dorris, CA) in a Evergreen bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Dunsmuir will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 40-37 league loss to Tulelake (Tulelake, CA).
