St. Amant Gators (St. Amant, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Dutchtown Griffins (Geismar, LA), 62-54 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Amant upgrades its record to 15-9 on the campaign. The Gators host Walker (Walker, LA) to play the Wildcats in a 5A District 5 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 22-5. Walker won 73-19 in their recent league bout against Live Oak (Watson, LA)

Next up, the Griffins play the Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA) in a 5A District 5 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Dutchtown will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a 21-5 record after their 60-51 league loss to East Ascension (Gonzales, LA).
