North Carolina High School Basketball - Pender trounced by East Columbus

February 3, 2023: Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450

The East Columbus Gators routed the visiting Pender Patriots basketball team by a final score of 75-53 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Gators face the South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 game, on Tuesday, February 7. East Columbus will attempt to move on its 5-12 season record. The Stallions enter the game with a 7-12 record after their 76-56 league loss to Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC).

With the defeat, Pender moves to 4-16 on the year. The Patriots host West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to face the Vikings in a 1A/2A Conference 5 game on Tuesday, February 7. The Vikings enter the game with a record of 8-9. West Columbus lost 57-50 in their recent league game against Whiteville (Whiteville, NC)
