Woodbine Tigers (Woodbine, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Exira-EHK Spartans (Elk Horn, IA), 68-67 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Woodbine upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host West Harrison (Mondamin, IA) to play the Hawkeyes in a Western Valley - South bout on Monday, February 6. The Hawkeyes come into the bout with a record of 16-1. West Harrison won 81-20 in their recent league bout against Whiting (Whiting, IA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Paton-Churdan Rockets (Churdan, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Exira-EHK will attempt to upgrade on its 17-3 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Ar-We-Va (Westside, IA).
