Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA), 56-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Oconee County upgrades its record to 15-8 on the campaign. The Warriors host Hart County (Hartwell, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a AAA Region 8 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 13-10. Hart County won 69-62 in their recent league bout against Stephens County (Toccoa, GA)

Next up, the Lions play the Hebron Christian Academy Lions (Dacula, GA) in a AAA Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Franklin County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-18 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 68-44 league loss to Monroe Area (Monroe, GA).
