The Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) basketball knocked off the host Hall Red Devils (Spring Valley, IL), 53-41 in Friday's league test.
The Comets (22-6) will now prepare for their test against Galena (Galena, IL). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 18-8 record. In their last test, Galena notched a victory over Aquin Catholic (Freeport, IL), 70-43, in a non-league test.
The Red Devils now own a 9-16 record. They play next when they travel to Erie-Prophetstown for a non-league test on Saturday, February 4. Hall will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 62-59 league loss to Sherrard (Sherrard, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 7-15.
