Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mid Valley Spartans (Throop, PA) and the visiting Holy Cross Crusaders (Dunmore, PA), saw Mid Valley's basketball squad knock off Holy Cross by a count of 54-45.

With the victory, Mid Valley upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Spartans host Forest City (Forest City, PA) to play the Foresters in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Foresters come into the challenge with a record of 8-6. Forest City won 49-38 in their recent league challenge against Mountain View (Kingsley, PA)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Lakeland Chiefs (Jermyn, PA) in a Lackawanna 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Holy Cross will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 10-8 record after their 48-45 league loss to Carbondale Area (Carbondale, PA).
