Texas High School Basketball - Merkel overwhelmed by Jim Ned

The Jim Ned Indians basketball team scored 76 points and restricted the visiting Merkel Badgers to 36 in the Indians league victory on Friday.
The Indians now sport a 20-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clyde for a 3A Region I District 6 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Jim Ned will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 55-53 league win over San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy (San Angelo, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 19-9.
The Badgers (15-14) will now prepare for their contest against Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region I District 6 contest with a 14-12 record. In their last contest, Coahoma was routed by Wall (Wall, TX), 53-37, in a league contest.
