Leggett Pirates (Leggett, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Zavalla Eagles (Zavalla, TX), 85-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Leggett upgrades its record to 14-13 on the campaign. The Pirates host Brookeland (Brookeland, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 24-4. Brookeland won 66-32 in their recent league bout against Chester (Chester, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Zavalla will attempt to upgrade on its 4-21 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 5-21 record after their 32-25 league win over Goodrich (Goodrich, TX).
