Minersville Battlin' Miners (Minersville, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Williams Valley Vikings (Tower City, PA), 56-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Minersville upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Battlin' Miners travel to Schuylkill Haven (Schuylkill Haven, PA) to play the Hurricanes in a Schuylkill County 2 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a record of 18-3. Schuylkill Haven won 77-73 in their recent non-league bout against Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Nativity BVM Green Wave (Pottsville, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 11. Williams Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record.
