San Angelo Central Bobcats (San Angelo, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Permian Panthers (Odessa, TX), 56-53 in a league bout.

With the win, San Angelo Central upgrades its record to 23-6 on the season. The Bobcats host Midland (Midland, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 6A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 18-9. Midland lost 60-59 in their recent league bout against Odessa (Odessa, TX)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Frenship Tigers (Wolfforth, TX) in a 6A Region I District 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Permian will attempt to upgrade on its 16-11 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 25-4 record after their 82-60 league win over Midland Legacy (Midland, TX).
