Wellston Golden Rockets (Wellston, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting River Valley Raiders (Bidwell, OH), 66-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wellston upgrades its record to 7-11 on the campaign. The Golden Rockets travel to Westfall (Williamsport, OH) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 4. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 10-8. Westfall won 97-63 in their recent league bout against Huntington (Chillicothe, OH)

Next up, the Raiders play the Vinton County Vikings (McArthur, OH) in a Tri-Valley I bout, on Tuesday, February 7. River Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-18 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 62-47 non-league loss to New Hope Christian Academy (Circleville, OH).
