The Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) basketball felled the visiting Wheatmore Warriors (Trinity, NC), 54-34 in Friday's league test.
The Cougars (13-9) will now prepare for their test against Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC). The Eagles go into the 1A/2A Conference 31 test with a 6-16 record. In their last test, Uwharrie Charter went down by Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC), 89-76, in a league test.
The Warriors now own a 5-15 record. They play next when they host Providence Grove for a 1A/2A Conference 31 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Wheatmore will meet a Patriots team coming off a 82-41 league loss to Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 6-16.
