Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers (Hartford, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Suffield Wildcats (West Suffield, CT), 54-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Tigers host Somers (Somers, CT) to clash with the Spartans in a North Central Connecticut bout on Monday, February 6. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Somers won 41-38 in their recent league bout against Stafford (Stafford Springs, CT)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT) in a North Central Connecticut bout, on Wednesday, February 8. Suffield will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 65-37 league win over Canton (Canton, CT).
