San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA), 52-49 in a league bout.

With the win, San Ysidro upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Eastlake (Chula Vista, CA) to clash with the Titans in a bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 24-7. Eastlake won 54-32 in their recent league bout against Montgomery (San Diego, CA)

Next up, the Crusaders clash with the Olympian Eagles (Chula Vista, CA) in a bout, on Wednesday, February 8. Mater Dei Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 23-3 record after their 51-44 league win over Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA).
