Texas High School Basketball - Athens overwhelmed by Van

The Van Vandals basketball team scored 81 points and restricted the host Athens Hornets to 26 in the Vandals league victory on Friday.
The Vandals now sport a 20-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Canton for a 4A Region II District 16 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Van will battle a Eagles team coming off a 43-38 league loss to Brownsboro (Brownsboro, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 26-6.
The Hornets (2-20) will now prepare for their contest against Lindale (Lindale, TX). The Eagles come into the 4A Region II District 16 contest with a 13-18 record. In their last contest, Lindale was routed by Mabank (Mabank, TX), 44-26, in a league contest.
