Echols County Wildcats (Statenville, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Atkinson County Rebels (Pearson, GA), 36-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Echols County upgrades its record to 4-16 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Lanier County (Lakeland, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a A D2 Region 2 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-20. Lanier County lost 86-12 in their recent league bout against Turner County (Ashburn, GA)

Next up, the Rebels play the Clinch County Panthers (Homerville, GA) in a A D2 Region 2 bout, on Saturday, February 4. Atkinson County will attempt to improve on its 4-18 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 17-3 record after their 67-55 league win over Charlton County (Folkston, GA).
