Bowie Bears (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Warriors (El Paso, TX), 33-21 in a league bout.

With the win, Bowie upgrades its record to 7-20 on the season. The Bears host Immanuel Christian (El Paso, TX) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 27-5. Immanuel Christian won 61-15 in their recent non-league bout against Father Yermo (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Warriors play the Irvin Rockets (El Paso, TX) in a 4A Region I District 1 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 54-36 league win over Austin (El Paso, TX).
