The Canton Eagles basketball team (Canton, TX), was nudged 43-38 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Brownsboro Bears (Brownsboro, TX)
The Bears now possess a 21-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cumberland Academy for a 4A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, February 7. Brownsboro will battle a Knights team coming off a 67-12 league loss to Canton (Canton, TX). The Knights record now stands at 5-18.
The Eagles (26-6) will now prepare for their battle against Van (Van, TX). The Vandals come into the 4A Region II District 16 battle with a 20-2 record. In their last battle, Van edged Athens (Athens, TX), 81-26, in a league battle.
