Midlothian Panthers (Midlothian, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Burleson Elks (Burleson, TX), 57-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Midlothian upgrades its record to 15-14 on the season. The Panthers host Centennial (Burleson, TX) to clash with the Spartans in a 5A Region I District 8 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 13-20. Centennial won 40-28 in their recent league bout against Cleburne (Cleburne, TX)

Next up, the Elks clash with the Joshua Owls (Joshua, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 bout, on Saturday, February 4. Burleson will attempt to upgrade on its 4-22 season record. The Owls go into the bout with a 10-20 record after their 39-29 league win over Centennial (Burleson, TX).
