East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), 44-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Rowan upgrades its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs host South Rowan (China Grove, NC) to play the Raiders in a 3A Conference 48 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 7-13. South Rowan lost 65-32 in their recent league bout against Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC) in a 3A Conference 48 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Carson will attempt to upgrade on its 3-19 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 14-8 record after their 89-46 league loss to West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC).
