Sherman Wildcats (Sherman, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds (Mayville, NY), 47-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Sherman upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Panama (Panama, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - West II bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 13-4. Panama won 50-28 in their recent league bout against Clymer Central (Clymer, NY)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Westfield/Brocton Wolverines (Westfield, NY) in a bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Chautauqua Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 53-20 league win over Silver Creek (Silver Creek, NY).
