The La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Connally Cadets (Waco, TX), 71-19 in Friday's league test.
The Pirates (30-5) will now prepare for their test against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX). The Hornets go into the 4A Region III District 23 test with a 8-21 record. In their last test, Gatesville was trounced by Salado (Salado, TX), 64-33, in a league test.
The Cadets now own a 23-9 record. They play next when they host Robinson for a 4A Region III District 23 test on Tuesday, February 7. Connally will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 48-30 league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 11-22.
