North Carolina High School Basketball - Pender ripped by East Columbus

In Friday's league match, the host East Columbus Gators basketball team scored a decisive 76-52 triumph over the Pender Patriots.

In their next game, the Gators meet the South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 match, on Tuesday, February 7. East Columbus will attempt to move on its 13-6 season record. The Stallions enter the match with a 6-13 record after their 38-31 league win over Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC).

With the defeat, Pender moves to 8-12 on the year. The Patriots host West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to meet the Vikings in a 1A/2A Conference 5 match on Tuesday, February 7. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 0-17. West Columbus lost 63-19 in their recent league match against Whiteville (Whiteville, NC)
