Piedmont Academy Cougars (Monticello, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Gatewood Gators (Eatonton, GA), 59-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Piedmont Academy upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 4. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a record of 17-3. Briarwood Academy won 61-28 in their recent non-league bout against Alleluia Community (Augusta, GA)

Next up, the Gators play the Westminster Christian Academy Lions (Watkinsville, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Gatewood will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 62-56 league loss to Brentwood (Sandersville, GA).
