The Hiwassee Dam Eagles basketball team (Murphy, NC), was overwhelmed 61-40 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC)

The Highlanders now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Blue Ridge Early College for a 1A Conference 43 - Little battle on Tuesday, February 7. Highlands will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 86-33 non-league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Bobcats record now stands at 7-13.

The Eagles (11-10) will now prepare for their battle against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Black Knights come into the non-league battle with a 14-7 record. In their last battle, Robbinsville trounced Hayesville (Hayesville, NC), 55-29, in a league battle.
