West Greene Buffaloes (Mosheim, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Johnson County Longhorns (Mountain City, TN), 71-63 in a league bout.

With the win, West Greene upgrades its record to 6-24 on the season. The Buffaloes host Gibbs (Corryton, TN) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 8-16.

Next up, the Longhorns play the Happy Valley Warriors (Elizabethton, TN) in a 2A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Johnson County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 46-44 non-league win over Cosby (Cosby, TN).
