Midland Valley Mustangs (Graniteville, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC), 44-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Midland Valley upgrades its record to 7-15 on the season. The Mustangs host North Augusta (North Augusta, SC) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a AAAA Region 4 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a record of 19-3. North Augusta lost 53-49 in their recent non-league bout against Keenan (Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Thoroughbreds clash with the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC) in a AAAA Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. South Aiken will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Fighting Green Hornets go into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 44-36 non-league loss to Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC).
