Texas High School Basketball - Mission Veterans Memorial knocked off by Nixon

The Nixon Mustangs basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots to 35 in the Mustangs league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 26-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Juarez-Lincoln for a 5A Region IV District 30 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Nixon will meet a Huskies team coming off a 51-18 league loss to Martin (Laredo, TX). The Huskies record now stands at 2-21.

The Patriots (2-21) will now prepare for their contest against Martin (Laredo, TX). The Tigers enter the 5A Region IV District 30 contest with a 15-17 record. In their last contest, Martin ran past Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX), 51-18, in a league contest.
