Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Rosman Tigers (Rosman, NC) and the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), saw Rosman's basketball squad overcome Mitchell by a tally of 63-49.

With the victory, Rosman improves its record to 20-4 on the campaign.

Next up, the Mountaineers confront the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 42 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Mitchell will attempt to improve on its 9-13 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 8-14 record after their 55-48 league win over Owen (Black Mountain, NC).
