North Carolina High School Basketball - North Edgecombe can't hold off Northwest Halifax

The Northwest Halifax Vikings basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting North Edgecombe Warriors to 52 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host KIPP Pride for a 1A Conference 9 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Northwest Halifax will battle a Pride team coming off a 48-33 league loss to Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC). The Pride record now stands at 0-14.

The Warriors (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars enter the 1A Conference 9 contest with a 15-1 record. In their last contest, Northampton County nudged Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC), 68-30, in a league contest.
